Abstract:With the aging of China's population and the change of China's family structure, the proportion of empty-nest families is increasing year by year. In order to reduce the pressure of young people to support the elderly, this paper takes the advantages of the universality of Android phones to design a fall detection algorithm for elderly people. The system is based on the change of acceleration and height value of the body. Through the process of data acquisition, data filtering, data feature extraction and so on, and on the basis of the existing methods, the statistical analysis of weightlessness data is introduced to distinguish the fall behavior form other behavior. When the fall is detected, the system will send the location and other information of the elderly to the guardian in the form of notice. Experiments show that the android-based system of fall detection for the elderly has high accuracy rate.
