网易邮箱游戏双第一不保，谁来取而代之？

中国的互联网公司很少有同时在两个领域居于第一的位置，大多是分身乏术，能在一个领域名列前茅已经非常了不起。然而，在过去，有这样一家公司能同时在邮箱和游戏两个领域拔得头筹，那就是网易。

随着2000年互联网泡沫的破灭，网易先后将业务重心放到了短信和游戏上，前者由于运营商的制约而演变成鸡肋，渐渐被网易放弃，而后者则成为网易的顶梁柱，这个被丁磊称为“每天睡觉都能赚钱”的业务，目前为网易贡献的利润达到80%以上。

网易另一个杀手锏是邮箱庞大的用户群，很显然，邮箱对网易的重要性已经今非昔比。过去，有评论员认为邮箱对网易来说只是“旺丁不旺财”，然而事实上，邮箱对用户的重要性和粘性几乎已经和IM软件持平，而网易也正在努力的从邮箱上发掘更大的商业价值，例如在邮箱中插入广告。

从游戏的角度上来讲，邮箱对网易的重要性也是不言而喻的，在游戏用户和邮箱用户的绑定上，网易可谓煞费苦心，当年金山出台新游戏的时候，网易邮件曾屏蔽金山邮件，使得金山的网游用户无法激活。

这种做法或许是流氓了一点，但正是这种策略才维持了网易在邮箱和游戏上的两个宝座。

但目前的互联网格局发生了变化，其一就是随着巨人和金山的上市，网易在游戏上面临的竞争压力会越老越大------前有狼（盛大和九城）后有虎（巨人和金山），网易必定陷入骑虎难下的境地。而最致命的问题则是网易网游人才的流失，有报道称，之前研发网易大话西游和梦幻西游的老将存在严重的流失现象，这样无怪乎后来的大唐等游戏迟迟不见起色。网易的青黄不接在财报上表现了出来，从第三财季看来，疲软的趋势尤其明显。

所谓祸不单行，在游戏上遭受挫折的网易在邮箱上也遇到了越老越大的挑战，随着雅虎邮箱和其余游戏厂商的联盟日趋扩张，越来越多的网游用户将会在雅虎邮箱安家落户，网易邮箱不可避免遭到用户的大量流失。

因为雅虎的如意算盘是，首先用邮箱ID整合资源，这样，邮箱用户和游戏用户可以相互渗透，形成多方共赢的超市效应，使邮箱的价值在网络生活中有新的提升，毕竟，对玩家来讲，良好优质的服务才最具吸引力。另外，对其他的游戏厂商来说，寻求一个安全可靠的邮箱服务商作为发展用户的基地才是明智的选择，毕竟谁都不愿意重蹈金山的覆辙，受制于网易。

而事实上，雅虎和其余网游厂商的联盟也在大张旗鼓的进行，此举将进一步孤立网易，瓦解其在网游和邮箱上的优势。那么对“网易邮箱游戏双第一不保，谁来取而代之？”这个问题，答案已经很明了。

The leading position of NetEase in Email and On-line game will lose, who can replace it 

There are few companies which can be outstanding in two or more fields. Most don’t have enough capital and technology, resources to sustain the development. It is so wonderful to be excellent in just one field. But at last, there is one company which can capture the leading position in Email and Games. That’s NetEase.
 

While the bursting of the bubble of Internet in 2000, NetEase located its business in SMS and Games. However, with the limitation of mobile operators, NetEase abandoned this business step by step. However, on-line games became the backbone business. This kind of business, which is described as “profitable business while sleeping” , contributes more than 80 percent profit to NetEase.

Another strong point for NetEase is the large group of users in Email. Of course Email is more and more significant for NetEase. At last, some comments considered that Email is just “chicken ribs” ------although it has so many users, it can’t bring any profit for NetEase. However, Email is just as important as IM. And NetEase is also trying its best to exploit more commercial value, just as put some advertisement in Email.

But from the aspect of on-line game, to be self-evident, Email is also important for NetEase. NetEase has madee painstaking efforts to binding the users. Last time, when kingsoft published the new games, NetEase has refused the Email which is sent by Kingsoft. That make it is impossible to activating the account.

 
The immoral behavior is not popular in Internet. But the strategy make NetEase become the leader of Email and On-line Games.

However, the structure of Internet has changed greatly. First is that Giant and KingSoft has gone public. The competition NetEase encounters will be much fiercer. In front of NetEase, there are two wolves, Shanda and the Nine. Behind of NetEase, there are two tigers, Giant and Kingsoft. The deadly problem is the lost of talents. According to some reports, the talents who design “A Chinese Odyssey” and “Fantasy Westward Journey” have joined to other companies. It is the very reason why other games can’t grow up. The shortage and scarcity have shown in the financial report. It is so evident in the report of autumn report.

It never rains but it pours. NetEase has also encountered more and more challenge in Email besides On line Games. While the union of Yahoo Email and other Games producers is expanding. More and more users will settle down in Yahoo Email. It is one great hit for NetEase.

The aim of Yahoo is integrate all resources by Yahoo ID. So the users of Email and Games can permeate each other. Then the value of Email can be upgraded in Internet life. For the players, the favorable service is most attractive. Then for other game producers, it is wise to search for one outstanding Email service。No game producers will follow the old road of Kingsoft and be restricted by NetEase.
 

As a matter of fact, the union of Yahoo and other producers is expanding at a large scale. This will isolate NetEase and disintegrate the superiority. So for the question mentioned in the title, the answer is so clear.
